Once I cut out the fruit, I quit crashing. But I would get revved up after drinking it and a couple hours later I would crash and couldn’t stay awake.
On the fruit, I purchased a juicer and was hitting it hard with organic veggies and fruits. Once I cut them out completely, my weight loss jumped back up to 5-7 pounds per week. Although the nuts meet all the guidelines they are too high in calories to eat very many. That was also the week that I only lost 1 pound.
DDP kept telling that nuts have a lot of calories and he finally said don’t eat them after 4:00 p.m.
No carbohydrates like gluten-free bread at night. (I went cold turkey after he told me to cut back.) If you are going to eat a potato or sweet potato, don’t eat any protein with that meal. (Of all of the rules, this is the most difficult for me to follow.) 4-6 ounces of protein at a meal, about the size of your palm. These are the rules I am trying to eat by right now: I am sure I am on my journey where I need to be and will learn more as we go along. So the general guidelines below are what I have learned from his instruction to this point. The man is a natural motivator and teacher. He tells you what to need to know at that time. I believe DDP teaches and pushes in increments. This is where DDP started with me and then we worked in the DDP Yoga. Dallas once texted me, “You can’t outwork and bad diet bro.” This rang true to what my little brother Jarrett told me, “Don’t punish your feet for something your mouth did.” The jest is that what you put in your mouth is more important than the calories you burn. I am as big a believer in his nutrition program as I am in his DDP Yoga. The more I trusted him the better my progress.
As long as I did what he said, the weight began to just fall off. These came after The Resurrection of Jake the Snake of course. DDP had me watch Food Inc., Genetic Roulette, and Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. It became more important to eat organic and natural foods. Dallas immediately changed the focus of my diet. All of that changed when DDP reached out to me. Over the last 25 years of my life, low carb in some form or another had always been the most effective diet. When I started this journey, I ate low carb. I often get asked about the food I am eating.
